Our Mission

To raise awareness and provide initial and secondary post-care clinical support services in communities that have been impacted by environmental, social and economical disaster. SUSTAIN-CARE tackles underlying causes of poverty so that people can become self-sufficient. Recognizing that poverty stricken communities suffer disproportionately, SUSTAIN-CARE places special emphasis on working to create permanent social change. Children are at the heart of SUSTAIN-CARE’s community-based efforts to improve basic health education, diabetes prevention , increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources. SUSTAIN-CARE also delivers emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters, and helps people rebuild their lives.

SUSTAIN-CARE Emergency Relief

The fight against poverty is never more difficult than in times of crisis. Our projects directly assist survivors of natural disasters and conflict through both immediate relief and longer-term community rehabilitation, including food, temporary shelter, clean water, sanitation services, medical care, family planning and mental health services. SUSTAIN-CARE also is increasingly focused on post-disaster rehabilitation in places such as Thailand, New Orleans and Haiti.  Learn More

DILA is a new program designed to improve the management of people with diabetes. The number of people with diabetes is steadily increasing, but the provision of consistent, effective and proactive education and care for people with diabetes is still inadequate.  Learn More
